We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide essential support to individuals in various settings, including group homes, assisted living facilities, and private residences. This role requires a commitment to enhancing the quality of life for clients by assisting with daily living activities, monitoring health, and providing companionship.
Duties
Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
Provide patient care and support for individuals with developmental disabilities, Alzheimer's disease, dementia, and autism.
Monitor vital signs and report any changes in the client's condition to healthcare professionals.
Implement care plans tailored to each client's needs while ensuring adherence to HIPAA regulations.
Perform light cleaning duties to maintain a safe and hygienic living environment.
Assist with medication administration as prescribed by healthcare providers.
Engage clients in social activities and provide emotional support to enhance their well-being.
Utilize equipment such as Hoyer lifts for safe patient transfers when necessary.
Maintain accurate records of client care and progress.
Skills
First aid and CPR certification preferred.
Experience in home health care, hospice care, or long-term care settings is highly desirable.
Familiarity with patient observation techniques and monitoring vital signs.
Strong background in caregiving, including cooking and meal preparation for clients.
Ability to perform heavy lifting when assisting clients with mobility challenges.
Knowledge of direct support practices for individuals with disabilities is essential.
Excellent communication skills for effectively interacting with clients, families, and healthcare teams.
