Job Overview


We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in providing care and support to individuals in various settings, including group homes, assisted living facilities, and home health environments. As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for our clients by assisting them with daily activities and ensuring their safety and well-being.

Responsibilities



Provide direct support to individuals with developmental disabilities, Alzheimer's, dementia, and other health conditions. Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation. Monitor patients' vital signs and overall health status, reporting any changes to the appropriate healthcare professionals. Implement care plans tailored to each individual's needs while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients by performing light housekeeping tasks. Assist with medication administration as per prescribed guidelines. Engage clients in social activities and provide companionship to enhance their emotional well-being. Utilize equipment such as Hoyer lifts for transferring clients safely when necessary. Document patient observations and care provided accurately in accordance with organizational policies.

Requirements



Previous experience in caregiving or support roles within home care, nursing homes, or assisted living settings is preferred. Knowledge of first aid and CPR techniques is essential; certification is a plus. Familiarity with patient monitoring techniques and vital signs assessment. Experience working with individuals with disabilities, including autism or developmental delays. Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment. Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and assist clients as needed. Understanding of dementia care principles and memory care practices is beneficial. A background in social work or nursing may be advantageous but is not mandatory.
