We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. This role involves providing essential care and support to individuals in various settings, including group homes, assisted living facilities, and private residences. The ideal candidate will have experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, Alzheimer's, and dementia care, and will be committed to enhancing the quality of life for our clients through personalized care.
Duties
Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
Provide patient observation and monitoring to ensure the safety and well-being of clients.
Support individuals with mobility needs, including the use of Hoyer lifts when necessary.
Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks.
Administer medications as per care plans while adhering to HIPAA regulations.
Engage clients in meaningful activities that promote social interaction and cognitive stimulation.
Document vital signs and any changes in client condition accurately.
Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the overall well-being of clients.
Qualifications
Previous experience in home health, hospice care, or long-term care settings is preferred.
Knowledge of first aid and CPR is essential; certification is a plus.
Experience working with individuals with autism or other developmental disabilities is highly desirable.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team environment.
Ability to perform heavy lifting as required for client assistance.
Familiarity with patient monitoring techniques and vital signs assessment is beneficial.
