Job Summary

We are seeking compassionate and reliable Support Workers to provide in-home care and assistance to seniors, helping them remain safe, comfortable, and independent in their own homes. The ideal candidate is patient, attentive, and committed to enhancing the quality of life of older adults, including seniors living with mobility limitations, chronic conditions, or cognitive challenges such as dementia. Ability to communicate in French in addition to English will be a good advantage

Support Workers will deliver personalized, client-centered care, addressing physical, emotional, and daily living needs while promoting dignity, independence, and well-being.

Key Responsibilities

Assist seniors with personal care tasks, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting Provide mobility assistance and transfers, ensuring safety and comfort at all times Support medication reminders or administration in accordance with care plans and agency guidelines Prepare nutritious meals based on individual dietary requirements and preferences Assist with light housekeeping duties, including cleaning, laundry, and maintaining a safe, hygienic living environment Provide companionship and emotional support to reduce loneliness and promote mental well-being Monitor clients' physical and emotional condition and promptly report any changes or concerns to supervisors or healthcare professionals Support seniors with cognitive impairments, including dementia, using respectful and person-centered care approaches Encourage participation in daily activities and routines that promote independence and quality of life Maintain accurate and timely documentation of care provided, observations, and client progress Travel to clients' homes in rural communities within approximately one hour of Winnipeg, as required by assigned shifts
Requirements

Previous experience in home care, senior care, assisted living, or healthcare support is preferred Experience working with seniors or individuals with mobility or cognitive challenges is an asset Valid Manitoba driver's license and ability to drive for work Willingness and ability to travel to rural areas within a one-hour radius of Winnipeg Reliable access to a vehicle is preferred Knowledge of basic caregiving practices, personal care, and senior safety Ability to assist with mobility and lifting using safe techniques Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a compassionate and respectful approach Ability to work independently in clients' homes and follow care plans accurately Dependable, patient, and adaptable to clients' changing needs Flexibility to work various shifts, including days, evenings, and weekends as required Caregiver certification or healthcare-related training is an asset but not mandatory

Pay: $18.00-$20.00 per hour
