Overview

J.W. MacIntosh Community Support Services is seeking caring, responsible individuals to join our client-centered team as Personal Support Workers (PSWs). In this role, you will provide client-focused support and respite care to individuals, their families, and caregivers--promoting independence, dignity, and overall well-being. Working as a key member of the health care team, you will support seniors and individuals with disabilities in community settings, including those living with dementia and other health challenges. This position requires compassion, reliability, and a strong commitment to enhancing quality of life through high-quality, personalized care.

Responsibilities

Deliver care as per plan; assist with updates. Monitor/report changes in client condition. Follow safety protocols and agency policies. Maintain professionalism; attend training. Assist with hygiene, mobility, and safety. Prepare meals; do shopping, cleaning, laundry. Provide caregiver relief and companionship. Support social, emotional, and recreational needs. Help with medications and basic First Aid. Maintain strict confidentiality.

Experience

Completion of Personal Support Worker course from a recognized program or equivalent Current certification in standard Level First Aid/CPR Ability to assess and respond to client's needs Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and be time efficient. Demonstrate knowledge of physical, emotional, and social needs of the elderly, the physically disabled adult, and the terminally ill. Demonstrated commitment to client safety Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and written Must provide own transportation. Food Safety Course (Within the last 5 years)

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent, Casual

Pay: $19.45-$25.60 per hour

Expected hours: 11 - 44 per week
