We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide essential assistance to individuals in need, ensuring their comfort and well-being. This role is crucial in delivering high-quality care to patients, particularly seniors and those with specific health conditions such as dementia or requiring hospice care. As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for those you support through various personal care tasks and companionship.

Responsibilities

Provide personal care assistance, including bathing, grooming, and dressing. Administer medications as prescribed and monitor patient health. Assist with meal preparation and ensure proper nutrition for clients. Offer companionship and emotional support to enhance the well-being of individuals. Perform light housekeeping duties to maintain a clean and safe living environment. Support clients with mobility needs, including heavy lifting when necessary. Document patient progress and report any changes in health status to the appropriate healthcare professionals. Engage clients in activities that promote mental stimulation and physical activity.

Requirements

Previous experience in patient care or a related field is preferred. Knowledge of medication administration protocols is essential. Experience with dementia care, hospice care, or senior care is highly desirable. Ability to perform heavy lifting as required by client needs. Strong communication skills and a compassionate demeanor. A commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and dignity at all times. Certification or training in home care or nursing is a plus but not mandatory. Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.
