We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to provide essential assistance to individuals in need of care. This role involves working closely with clients to enhance their quality of life through various support services. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to caregiving and demonstrate the ability to work effectively with individuals with disabilities, as well as those requiring hospice or home care.
Duties
Provide personal care and support to clients, including assistance with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
Administer medication as prescribed and monitor clients' health conditions.
Assist clients with mobility and heavy lifting when necessary, ensuring their safety and comfort.
Maintain a clean and organized living environment for clients, promoting hygiene and well-being.
Support clients with meal preparation and nutrition management.
Engage in meaningful activities with clients to promote social interaction and emotional well-being.
Document client progress and report any changes in condition to the appropriate healthcare professionals.
Collaborate with other healthcare providers, including nurses and therapists, to ensure comprehensive care for clients.
Qualifications
Previous experience in caregiving or a related field is preferred, particularly in home care or assisted living settings.
Familiarity with hospice care practices is a plus.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with clients, families, and team members.
Compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help others improve their quality of life.
Ability to perform heavy lifting tasks as required by client needs.
Knowledge of medication administration protocols is beneficial.
Experience working with individuals with disabilities is an advantage.
Certification in first aid or CPR is desirable but not mandatory.
