Job Overview

As a Personal Support Worker (PSW), you will provide essential care and support to clients in their homes or within a care facility. Your role involves assisting with daily living activities, ensuring the physical and emotional well-being of clients, and promoting independence and dignity.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist clients with personal hygiene, including bathing, grooming, and dressing. Provide mobility support, including transfers, lifts, and repositioning. Assist with feeding and meal preparation according to dietary needs and preferences. Perform light housekeeping tasks, including laundry and cleaning. Assist with medications as prescribed and directed by a healthcare professional. Support clients with cognitive impairments, providing companionship and mental stimulation. Assist with exercises and physical therapy routines as instructed by healthcare professionals. Provide emotional support and companionship, fostering a positive and caring environment. Ensure client safety and comfort at all times. Communicate effectively with clients, families, and healthcare team members. Document care provided and maintain accurate client records.
Qualifications:

Completion of a recognized Personal Support Worker (PSW) program or equivalent. Certification in First Aid and CPR. Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting and transferring clients. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Compassionate, patient, and empathetic demeanor. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Working Conditions:

May involve working evenings, weekends, and holidays. Exposure to various home environments and long-term care settings. Physical demands include lifting, bending, and prolonged periods of standing.

Pay: $23.00 per hour
