Job Description

Key Responsibilities:



Deliver classroom and/or online instruction following the approved PSW curriculum and course outlines. Facilitate laboratory and clinical sessions, demonstrating proper caregiving techniques and ensuring student competence. Supervise students during clinical placements, providing support, evaluation, and feedback. Assess and evaluate student progress through assignments, exams, and practical demonstrations. Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and student performance. Create a positive, engaging, and inclusive learning environment that supports diverse learning styles. Stay current with health care practices, Ministry guidelines, and PSW program standards. Ensure compliance with college policies, Ministry of Colleges and Universities regulations, and health and safety requirements. Participate in program meetings, professional development, and quality assurance activities.

Qualifications:



Education:

Diploma or certificate as a Personal Support Worker, Registered Practical Nurse (RPN), or Registered Nurse (RN). Bachelor's degree in Nursing or Health Sciences (an asset). GPA Certificate (Instructor license required)

Experience:

Minimum of 3 years of recent experience in a clinical or long-term care setting. Previous teaching or training experience preferred (adult education experience is an asset).

Skills & Competencies:

Strong knowledge of PSW curriculum standards and best practices in caregiving. Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills. Ability to motivate and mentor students from diverse backgrounds. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Proficient in using educational technology and online learning platforms.

Working Conditions:



May be required to teach days, evenings, or weekends. Travel to clinical placement sites as needed. Report to administration with weekly reports.
