Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide essential care and support to individuals in various settings, including assisted living facilities, nursing homes, and private homes. This role involves working closely with seniors, individuals with disabilities, and those requiring specialized care, such as dementia or hospice care. The Support Worker will play a crucial role in enhancing the quality of life for our clients through personalized care and assistance.

Responsibilities

Provide personal care and assistance with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting. Assist clients with mobility and transfers, including heavy lifting when necessary. Prepare nutritious meals according to dietary needs and preferences. Administer medications as prescribed and monitor clients for any changes in condition. Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks. Engage clients in social activities to promote mental well-being and companionship. Document care provided and report any concerns or changes in clients' health to the supervising nurse or caregiver. Support clients with activities that enhance their independence and dignity.

Qualifications

Previous experience in assisted living, nursing home settings, or home care is preferred. Knowledge of patient care techniques, including dementia care, hospice care, and working with people with disabilities. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients and their families. Ability to perform caregiving tasks such as meal preparation, medication administration, cleaning, and personal hygiene assistance. Compassionate nature with a strong commitment to providing high-quality support to individuals in need. Must be physically capable of performing duties that may involve heavy lifting or prolonged standing. Certification in caregiving or related fields is a plus but not required.
