Seeking a Casual PSW with full availability for Flexible Shifts (Home and Community Team)

Parkwood Suites is a 76-unit Retirement Home offering Full-Service Assisted Living. In addition to traditional retirement home services, we have our own in-house Home and Community Care team through a contract with Ontario Health at Home, allowing us to provide personalized, internal care to our residents without reliance on external agencies.

We are seeking flexible and dedicated PSWs to join our Home and Community Care team, with the opportunity for as many shifts as possible, including days, evenings, and occasional nights. This role is ideal for someone who can adapt to a variable schedule and is committed to providing high-quality care to seniors in a vibrant and compassionate setting.

Key Responsibilities:

-Attend to resident care needs as part of our Home and Community Care team, including medication administration and personal support duties.

-Provide care based on a rotating shift schedule, including early morning shifts starting at 6 a.m. (transportation to early shifts is required).

-Flexibility to work across various shifts, maximizing hours wherever possible.

-Ability to respond to emergencies and follow through on care duties as per the job routine.

Requirements:

-A valid PSW certificate.

-Previous experience with UCP (Unregulated Care Provider) training is a strong asset.

-Clear Vulnerable Sector Police Check within the last six months.

-Current TB Skin Test.

-Fully vaccinated against COVID-19 (2 past doses OR 1 current dose minimum).

-Experience working in a Retirement Home or Community Care setting preferred.

-Reliable transportation to ensure availability for early morning shifts (bus service may not be available at all shift times).

-Flexibility to work across multiple shifts (days, evenings, and nights), with maximum availability being highly desirable.
