Overview


We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in providing care and support to individuals with various needs, including those with developmental disabilities, Alzheimer's, and dementia. This role involves assisting clients with daily living activities, ensuring their safety and well-being, and promoting their independence in a supportive environment.

Responsibilities



Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation. Provide patient care and support in group home settings or assisted living facilities. Monitor clients' vital signs and overall health status, reporting any changes to the appropriate healthcare professionals. Implement care plans tailored to individual client needs, ensuring adherence to HIPAA regulations. Engage clients in meaningful activities that promote social interaction and cognitive stimulation. Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients by performing light housekeeping tasks. Assist with medication administration as directed by healthcare professionals. Utilize equipment such as Hoyer lifts safely when transferring clients. Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance clients' quality of life. Document patient observations accurately and maintain confidentiality at all times.

Requirements



Previous experience in home health, hospice care, or long-term care settings is preferred. Knowledge of first aid and CPR certification is highly desirable. Experience working with individuals with disabilities, including autism or developmental delays. Strong understanding of dementia care practices and memory care techniques. Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary to assist clients. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team. Familiarity with patient monitoring techniques and vital sign assessment is beneficial. A compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help others lead fulfilling lives. Must be able to follow care plans accurately while being attentive to the unique needs of each resident. Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $27.00 per hour

Expected hours: 15 - 20 per week
