Job Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing assistance to individuals with varying needs, including those with developmental disabilities, seniors, and individuals requiring memory care. This position involves supporting clients in their daily activities, ensuring their comfort and safety while promoting independence and dignity.

Responsibilities

Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation. Provide patient care and support in group home settings or assisted living environments. Monitor and document vital signs and changes in clients' conditions. Implement care plans tailored to individual client needs, including medication administration as required. Engage clients in social activities and provide companionship to enhance their quality of life. Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping duties. Assist with mobility needs, including the use of Hoyer lifts for heavier lifting tasks. Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations while handling sensitive client information. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care for clients with conditions such as Alzheimer's or dementia.

Skills

First aid and CPR certification are highly desirable. Experience in home health, hospice care, or long-term care settings is a plus. Strong patient observation skills to identify changes in behavior or health status. Ability to work effectively with individuals with developmental disabilities and autism. Knowledge of memory care techniques and dementia support strategies. Proficiency in cooking and meal preparation for clients with dietary restrictions. Excellent communication skills to interact positively with clients, families, and team members. Familiarity with direct support practices and caregiving principles.
