Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide essential support to individuals in assisted living in a home like environment. This role involves assisting Elders with daily activities, ensuring their comfort and well-being while promoting independence. The Support Worker will work closely with individuals who may have disabilities, dementia, or require hospice care, delivering high-quality patient care in a respectful and empathetic manner. You will be working on a First Nations so Indigenous knowledge is a huge asset.

Responsibilities

Assist Elders with daily living activities including personal hygiene, grooming, and dressing Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the quality of life for clients Help with meal preparation and ensure proper nutrition for clients Administer medication as prescribed and monitor Elders health conditions Assist with mobility and heavy lifting when necessary to ensure client safety Maintain a clean and safe environment for Elders by performing housekeeping duties Document Elders progress and report any changes in health or behavior to the healthcare management team Collaborate with other caregivers and healthcare professionals to develop personalized care plans

Qualifications

Previous experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or senior care is preferred but not necessary Knowledge of patient care practices including dementia care and hospice care is highly desirable Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients and their families Ability to perform heavy lifting as needed while ensuring client safety Basic cleaning skills to maintain a hygienic living environment for Elders, infection prevention knowledge is an asset Certification in caregiving or nursing is an advantage but not mandatory A compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help others live fulfilling lives

Pay: $23.00-$25.00 per hour
