Responsibilities
Assist residents or clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment like Hoyer lifts when necessary
Monitor patient health by taking vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature; observe and report any changes or concerns promptly
Support medication administration following HIPAA guidelines and care plans developed by healthcare professionals
Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with meal service to promote proper nutrition and hydration
Maintain a clean and safe environment through regular cleaning duties and adherence to infection control protocols
Provide emotional support and companionship to residents or clients to promote mental well-being
Document care activities accurately in compliance with privacy regulations and organizational policies
Collaborate with healthcare teams including nurses, social workers, and therapists to deliver comprehensive support tailored to each individual's needs
Assist with mobility using specialized equipment such as Hoyer lifts or resident's personal assistive devices
Participate in training sessions on CPR, first aid, dementia care, Alzheimer's care, autism support, hospice care, and other relevant areas to enhance caregiving skills
Support residents' participation in social activities and community outings to foster engagement and independence
Qualifications
Prior experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, group homes, or home & community care is highly preferred
Knowledge of patient observation techniques and monitoring vital signs accurately
Certification in CPR and First Aid is required; additional certifications such as HIPAA training or dementia/Alzheimer's care are advantageous
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when assisting residents with mobility or transfers using equipment like Hoyer lifts
Strong communication skills to effectively interact with residents, families, and healthcare team members
Demonstrated patience and empathy when working with individuals with developmental disabilities or memory impairments
Experience working with people with autism or disabilities is a plus
Ability to follow detailed care plans and medication schedules precisely
Flexibility to work various shifts including evenings, weekends, or holidays as needed
