Job Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in providing care to individuals in various settings, including nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and home care environments. This role involves supporting seniors and individuals with disabilities, ensuring their comfort and well-being while promoting independence.

Duties

Provide personal care assistance to clients, including bathing, grooming, and dressing. Administer medications as prescribed and monitor clients for any side effects or changes in condition. Assist with meal preparation and ensure proper nutrition for clients. Engage clients in meaningful activities to enhance their quality of life. Support clients with mobility and transfers, including heavy lifting when necessary. Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping duties. Document patient care activities accurately and maintain confidentiality of client information. Collaborate with healthcare professionals for case management and to develop personalized care plans. Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, particularly those with dementia or hospice needs.

Qualifications

Previous experience in nursing homes, senior care, or working with individuals with disabilities is preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology and patient care practices is essential. Experience in dementia care, hospice care, or caregiving is a plus. Ability to perform heavy lifting and assist clients with physical mobility challenges. Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team environment. A compassionate demeanor with a genuine desire to help others improve their quality of life.
