Marina Point Village is currently seeking a Personal Support Worker to join our team in a part-time capacity. Resident Services Staff will provide comfortable retirement living services that cater to the physical, social, emotional and spiritual needs of all clients who wish to regain or maintain an independent lifestyle. We deliver our mission by adhering to ORCA & RHA standards. Through these standards, we focused on continuous quality improvement, infection prevention and control, maintain best practices in health and safety and the ongoing training of all staff. Candidates must be able to work 12 hour rotations, both dayshift and nightshift. Resident Services Staff work to achieve the following: \xc2\xb7 To provide residents, tenants, visitors, volunteers and employees with a warm and welcoming environment. \xc2\xb7 To facilitate the procurement of community support services and facilitate, guide and support the transition of our Residents who are experiencing an increase in their care needs. \xc2\xb7 To employ infection prevention and control measures while performing all cleaning duties. \xc2\xb7 To identify safety hazards within the physical environment and immediately report these to the Joint Health and Safety Committee. \xc2\xb7 To adhere to all safety measures and precautions for the protection and comfort of the residents, family members, employees and volunteers. Qualifications: \xc2\xb7 PSW Certificate or equivalent work experience. \xc2\xb7 Previous experience working as a PSW in a retirement community is an asset. \xc2\xb7 Experience in geriatrics or gerontology is an asset. \xc2\xb7 An understanding of the needs and issues of the older adult is required. \xc2\xb7 Current certification in CPR and First Aid is required. \xc2\xb7 Availability to work days, evenings, nights and weekends is required. Must be able to work 12-hour shifts. \xc2\xb7 Experience in medication administration an asset. \xc2\xb7 Bilingualism (English/French) is an asset. \xc2\xb7 Willingness to update and keep current their knowledge of changing regulations, practices and procedures is a requirement. \xc2\xb7 Good attendance record is required. \xc2\xb7 Satisfactory Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening is required (dated within 6 months). \xc2\xb7 TB testing and a N95 mask fit certificate is required This position is part of CUPE Local 5482.
