Genesis Terrace Retirement Home is seeking compassionate, reliable, and client-centered

Personal Support Workers (PSWs)

As a PSW at Genesis Terrace, you'll provide essential hands-on care and emotional support to our residents in a warm, respectful, and wellness-oriented environment. You'll work alongside our nursing team, culinary team, and recreation department to ensure residents feel safe, seen, and supported in their daily lives.

Key Responsibilities

Provide personal care, ADL support (assistance with bathing, grooming, toileting, and mobility) with compassion and dignity. Observe and report changes in residents' health, behavior, and mood to the RN/RPN on duty. Assist with meal services including serving, mealtime support, and light food prep if needed. Follow care plans and communicate effectively with the interdisciplinary team. Foster meaningful relationships with residents while maintaining therapeutic boundaries. Assist with resident social activities and programming in collaboration with the recreation team. Maintain cleanliness and safety in resident areas in accordance with IPAC (Infection Prevention and Control) guidelines. Complete documentation accurately and in a timely manner using our care platform. Participate in training, team meetings, and ongoing quality improvement initiatives. Ensure all certificates are up to date and valid.

Qualifications

PSW Certificate from a recognized Ontario college or program (required). CPR & First Aid certification (preferred). Gentle Persuasive Approaches (GPA) certificate or willingness to obtain. Experience in retirement, long-term care, or home care is an asset. Ability to work various shifts including weekends and holidays. Strong interpersonal skills, empathy, and professional communication. Team-oriented with a commitment to respectful, collaborative care. Familiarity with dementia care and client-centered care practices.
