Job Description
Jazz Levis, a friendly private seniors' residence, is seeking a person to fill a part-time night shift Personal Support Worker position with Competency 6 (Law 90). Candidates must hold a Personal Support Worker/Personal Care Attendant (PSW) or DEP (Diploma of Vocational Studies) in Personal Assistance in Institutions and at Home, or a Recognition of Acquired Competencies (RAC) certificate, or have accumulated 5,000 hours of PAB (Personal Support Worker) training within the last 5 years, plus current 16-hour CPR certification and completed PDSP (Personal Support and Care Plan).
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Schedule: 1 night shift PAB position, 4/14 nights including one weekend out of two and one weekday night. (Midnight - 8:00 a.m.)
ROLE AND GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist and/or accompany residents in getting around Contribute to the adjustment of a residents' action plan based on their observations Contribute to the development of a residentse action plan based on their observations Distribute medication in pill organizers and provide some invasive care (as needed and provided you have the necessary training) Respond to all emergency situations While interacting with them, report any noticeable changes in a residents mental or physical health to the on-call nurse.
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Up-to-date CPR/AED general first aid training AP/RPA or DEP training in personal assistance in establishments and at home PDSP training Competency 6 (Law 90)
