We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide essential assistance to individuals in need, ensuring their comfort and well-being. This role involves working closely with clients in various settings, including hospice care, assisted living facilities, and nursing homes. The Support Worker will play a crucial role in enhancing the quality of life for those they serve by offering personal care, companionship, and support.

Responsibilities

Assist clients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and grooming. Provide meal preparation and nutritional support tailored to individual dietary needs. Offer companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a positive environment. Assist with mobility and transportation needs, including heavy lifting when necessary. Monitor and report changes in clients' health or behavior to appropriate healthcare professionals. Support individuals with disabilities by providing tailored care plans that promote independence. Engage clients in activities that stimulate cognitive function, particularly for those with dementia care needs. Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients, adhering to all health and safety regulations.

Skills

Experience in hospice care or assisted living is highly desirable. Strong background in caregiving with a focus on patient care techniques. Ability to perform heavy lifting as required by client needs. Knowledge of dementia care practices is beneficial for supporting clients effectively. Excellent communication skills to interact compassionately with clients and their families. Patience and empathy are essential traits for building trusting relationships with clients. Familiarity with working with persons with disabilities is an asset.
