We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential assistance to individuals in need of care, ensuring their comfort and well-being. You will work closely with patients in various settings, including home care, nursing homes, and hospice environments. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to patient care and the ability to perform various caregiving tasks.

Duties

Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, dressing, and grooming. Administer medications as prescribed and monitor patients for any side effects or changes in condition. Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a positive environment. Prepare nutritious meals according to dietary requirements and preferences. Assist with mobility and physical support, including heavy lifting when necessary. Maintain a clean and safe living environment for clients by performing light housekeeping tasks. Document patient care activities accurately and report any concerns to healthcare professionals. Collaborate with other healthcare team members to ensure comprehensive patient care.

Qualifications

Previous experience in caregiving or support roles is preferred, particularly in senior care or home care settings. Knowledge of medication administration practices and hospice care is a plus. Ability to perform heavy lifting as needed for patient mobility assistance. Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with clients and their families. Compassionate demeanor with a genuine desire to help others improve their quality of life. Certification in CPR/First Aid is desirable but not mandatory.
