Job Overview


We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Personal Support Workers (PSWs) to provide high-quality care to individuals in various settings, including home, community, assisted living, and long-term care facilities. The ideal candidate will assist with daily activities, monitor patient health, and support individuals with diverse needs such as dementia, developmental disabilities, autism, and other special care requirements. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those needing support and care.

Responsibilities



Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility assistance Provide patient observation and monitor vital signs to ensure safety and well-being Administer medications following care plans and HIPAA guidelines Support residents with dementia or Alzheimer's through specialized memory care techniques Prepare nutritious meals and assist with feeding as needed Operate patient lifts such as Hoyer lifts and assist with heavy lifting to ensure safe transfers Maintain cleanliness of the living environment through light cleaning duties Follow prescribed care plans and document patient progress accurately Recognize and respond promptly to changes in patient condition or behavior Work collaboratively with healthcare teams to deliver comprehensive patient care in accordance with HIPAA regulations

Skills



Proven experience in home & community care, assisted living, nursing homes, or long-term care environments Knowledge of patient care techniques including assisting with ADLs, medication administration, and vital signs monitoring Familiarity with dementia, Alzheimer's, autism, hospice, and memory care practices CPR and First Aid certification required or willingness to obtain upon hire Experience working with people with developmental disabilities or disabilities in general Ability to work independently and as part of a team in fast-paced settings Strong observational skills for patient monitoring and safety awareness Compassionate communication skills tailored to diverse populations including seniors and individuals with special needs Ability to perform heavy lifting safely using equipment such as Hoyer lifts when necessary Knowledge of HIPAA compliance and confidentiality standards in healthcare
