Job Overview


We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Support Worker (PSW) to provide exceptional care and assistance to individuals in various settings, including home care, assisted living, nursing homes, and group homes. This vital role involves supporting clients with daily activities, ensuring their safety, and promoting independence while fostering a warm and respectful environment. Duties



Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility to promote comfort and independence. Monitor patient health by observing vital signs, reporting changes, and maintaining accurate care plans in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Provide medication administration under supervision or as authorized by healthcare providers, ensuring proper documentation. Support patients with meal preparation, nutritional needs, and feeding assistance to promote healthy eating habits. Utilize specialized equipment such as Hoyer lifts or other transfer devices to safely move residents with mobility challenges. Conduct patient observation and monitoring to identify any signs of distress or deterioration in condition. Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light cleaning duties and adhering to infection control protocols. Document all care activities thoroughly and accurately in accordance with healthcare standards and privacy laws. Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop and implement personalized care plans tailored to each resident's needs. Engage in ongoing training related to dementia care, Alzheimer's care, autism support, hospice care, and other specialized areas of patient support.

Experience



Previous experience working in home health, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or group homes is highly preferred. Demonstrated knowledge of patient observation techniques, vital signs monitoring, and medication administration. Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, dementia (including Alzheimer's), autism spectrum disorder, or memory care is advantageous. Familiarity with HIPAA regulations ensuring confidentiality of patient information. Hands-on experience using assistive devices such as Hoyer lifts or other mobility aids. Strong background in caregiving roles that involve social work principles and long-term care practices. Certifications such as CPR and First Aid are required; additional training in hospice or palliative care is a plus. Pay: $18.06-$20.00 per hour
