About the Role: SHIFT AVAILABILITY: 8am-4pm Monday to Friday + Alternating weekends. The Personal Support Worker (PSW) provides personal support and homemaking services to clients and their families throughout Newmarket and surrounding communities. This role requires an individual with excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently. Care is provided in the client\'s home, so having access to your own vehicle is a job requirement. Why work at RNS Health Care Services Inc? \xc2\xb7 Competitive salary, group benefits and paid sick days \xc2\xb7 Sign-on Bonus of $500 \xc2\xb7 Flexible Schedule \xc2\xb7 Weekend Premium Pay \xc2\xb7 Permanent, full-time status \xc2\xb7 Mobile Device for applicable field staff Who We are Looking For: \xc2\xb7 Must have reliable transportation; this includes a valid Ontario Driver\xe2\x80\x99s License and automobile insurance \xc2\xb7 Lift and carry using appropriate lifting techniques up to fifty (50) lbs; Bend, push, pull, grip, reach, kneel, crouch using good body mechanics; Walk, sit, stand, climb stairs; use of elevators \xc2\xb7 Ability to communicate effectively in English (includes reading, writing and conversing) A Day-to-Day Look at the Role: \xc2\xb7 Evaluates current personal support care plan and contributes to the development of the care plan; implements changes to plan if required and advises supervisor accordingly \xc2\xb7 Reports any changes in the client\xe2\x80\x99s or family\'s personal support needs or home situation \xc2\xb7 Provides personal care as directed by the Client Services Manager and his or her delegate. This includes assisting the client in daily activities (eating, dressing, etc.) and other personal hygiene needs \xc2\xb7 Performs personal support tasks reflecting the needs of the client such as: light cleaning, meal prep, laundry and companionship. \xc2\xb7 Completes daily mobile check ins and proper documentation. \xc2\xb7 Other duties as assigned What You Will Need to Succeed: \xc2\xb7 Graduate of an approved Personal Support Worker course in Ontario, or equivalent (internationally trained nurse, Health Care Aide, or nursing student who has completed their first year of schooling). \xc2\xb7 First Aid / CPR certification is required \xc2\xb7 Clear Vulnerable Sector Screen (Within last three years) \xc2\xb7 TB Test (within last two years) \xc2\xb7 Previous experience working with elderly is considered asset Subject to our duty to accommodate under the Human Rights Code, we require all new employees to provide proof of vaccination against Covid-19 prior to commencing employment.
