Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide essential care and assistance to individuals in various settings, including assisted living facilities, nursing homes, and private homes. This role involves supporting clients with daily activities, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being while promoting their independence.

Responsibilities

Assist clients with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and grooming. Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the quality of life for clients. Help with meal preparation and ensure proper nutrition for clients. Administer medications as prescribed and monitor client health status. Assist with mobility and heavy lifting when necessary to ensure client safety. Perform light housekeeping duties to maintain a clean and safe environment. Engage clients in activities that promote cognitive function, especially for those with dementia or disabilities. Document daily activities and report any changes in client condition to the appropriate healthcare professionals.

Requirements

Previous experience in assisted living, nursing home care, or senior care is preferred. Familiarity with hospice care practices is a plus. Experience working with individuals with disabilities or dementia care is highly valued. Strong caregiving skills including patience, empathy, and effective communication. Ability to perform heavy lifting as required by client needs. Basic knowledge of medication administration protocols is beneficial. Must be able to maintain a clean work environment through regular cleaning tasks. A valid certification in caregiving or related fields is an advantage but not mandatory.
