Personal Lines Underwriter
Location: Hamilton, ON
Morison Insurance is currently seeking positive and enthusiastic individuals to join our team of insurance professionals as Underwriters in our Personal Lines department.
What Will Our Personal Lines Underwriter Do?
They will support our Personal Lines Client Account Managers by completing the following tasks:

• Upload insurance applications on various company portals
• Submitting Letter of Authorizations to companies for processing
• Processing insurance policy changes on various company portals
• Checking new business/policy changes/cancellations for accuracy
• Work from a queue, completing activities in our Broker management system
• Processing manual renewals and invoices for non-download policies
• Follow-up on Expiry Reports with company on pending renewals
• Calls to company for Underwriting follow-up/questions as required
• EDI \xe2\x80\x93 assigning policies in suspense, transactions and eDocs
• Split Accounts/Move Policies within our broker management system
• Inactivate Client Accounts, complete MVR procedure
• Handling \xe2\x80\x98mail\xe2\x80\x99 activities within Epic as entered by reception
• Quote coverages on portal as required by Brokers
• Month End Reports; review and correct as required

Qualifications

• Solid understanding of various insurance companies and their underwriting rules
• Strong organizational skills
• Ability to work in a busy, fast-paced environment
• Quick learner
• Willing to obtain RIBO License

Additional Assets:

• (2) years Personal Lines insurance education and/or experience
• Experience using Applied Epic
• Experience using Compu-Quote and various insurance company portals
• Additional industry designations, such as RIBO, CAIB, or CIP
