Personal Care Assistant - Full Time Position

6:30AM-6:30PM

(It is the right of management to alter or change the hours of work as it deems necessary)

Qualifications

Duties include but are not limited to:

Review Medication Process Daily and follow according to Eastern Health Standards.

Review reports from Night Shift and become informed verbally of any issues.

Meds are to be dispensed starting at 8:00am , blood sugars taken and insulin to be given by the delegated PCA

MAR sheets must be signed as the medication is given in order to ensure that proper documentation is completed.

Assist residents Morning care.

Any Resident requiring dressing/undressing or personal care is to be completed.

Resident Shower List to be completed evenly by day PCA.

Respond to resident call bells promptly.

If RCM isn't available, PCA workers will have to make decisions regarding resident's health. If you feel a resident requires emergency medical care, call 911 and then notify the resident's family immediately (only one family member needs to be notified. Please provide MAR Sheets and a copy of the medical history when sending to the hospital. Always document these incidents in the communication book & progress notes in residents chart.

Regular hand washing and sanitizing should be used frequently.

Completes appropriate documentation regarding resident care. Contributes and read report at the end/beginning of shifts regarding changes in resident condition

Be sure to always approach residents with a friendly attitude and be courteous.

Foster an environment of engagement, encouragement and safeguard to ensure resident's well-being is maintained. Particularly for those seniors who are vulnerable and require guidance/support

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Compassionate and cares about the dignity of each resident

Communicates well with doctors and family members

Possesses patience and understanding when dealing with difficult residents

Able to kneel, bend, stoop and lift repeatedly

Must have good listening skills

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $18.00 per hour

Work Location: In person
