Job Description

We are actively recruiting for 1-2 Personal Care Attendants to assist a private female employer who is a stroke survivor with Dystonia, in providing personal care and assistance with all activities of daily living during the day and overnight.

The preferred candidate would be someone with a calm energy, sense of humor, who enjoys helping her with makeup and nail polish, and enjoys having quiet music on or watching shows.

She was in the arts and entertainment industry for ten years as the Publicist, Tour, and Fan Development Manager for Like A Storm. She met them in 2005 when they came to Vancouver and played at the Buffalo Club. She was travelling to surprise them at their sold-out shows all over the country with Creed.

No experience is necessary for this position.

Location:

North Vancouver (near Crickmay Park)

Shifts & Hours:

Day shift:

Tuesdays: 5:00pm -10:00pm Wednesdays: 5:00pm-10:00pm

Overnight Shift:

Tuesdays: 10:00pm - 7:00am

Compensation:

$27.50 per hour

Responsibilities will include (but may not be limited to):

Day shifts:

All aspects of activities of daily living and personal care including showering, dressing, washroom care Meal preparation and feeding assistance Assist with stretching exercises Grocery shopping

Overnight shifts:

Scheduled turns and repositioning (once or twice during the night)

Required Qualifications:

Must be fully vaccinated (Minimum 2 doses) Calm demeanor and have a sense of humor Must be comfortable working in an environment with a retired senior 9 year old yellow lab dog Willingness to be trained Non-smoker required
