Role Overview:



The Human Resources & Payroll Administrator supports the work of the human resources and payroll functions and is responsible for processing and administering Board remuneration and casual payroll.



What you will do:


+ Administer and monitor division wide staff absences and daily attendance ensuring compliance with the various collective agreements, employment legislation and contracts.
+ Complete all required tracking and documentation to comply with provincial and school division record keeping requirements.
+ Review new employee setups and employee terminations.
+ Verify and process data and payments for year-end compensation including, but not limited to, service recognition days and unassigned block hours.
+ Provide support and human resource data for division events such as employee service awards.
+ Perform other duties as may be required or assigned by the Human Resources Superintendent.



What will make you successful:


+ Diploma in Business Administration, or related discipline, with a preference for a specialty in Human Resource Management and/or Payroll Administration.
+ Minimum 3 years experience providing administrative support to human resources and/or payroll departments in a large and fast paced business environment.
+ Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) designation an asset.
+ Excellent working knowledge of human resource functions and payroll systems.
+ Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
+ Ability to establish effective working relationships with all levels of staff in the organization.
+ Ability to independently initiate and organize projects to achieve efficiencies.
+ Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and effectively manage high volumes of work.
+ Ability to always deal with people sensitively and professionally.
+ Effective time management skills with the ability to prioritize work.
+ Demonstrated attention to detail and ensures accuracy of own work.
+ Proficient in the operation of computers, HR software, Microsoft Office suite and other web-based applications.
+ Ability to manage confidential material and maintain staff and student privacy.



What you can expect:


+ Hourly rate range: $31.82 - $37.22.
+ 100% employer paid health benefits plan.
+ Employer matched pension plan.
+ Hours of work are 3.75 hours per from 8:00 a.m. to 11:45 a.m., subject to change
+ Additional working conditions, leave provisions and other benfits are described in the non-unionized Conditions of Employment agreement.
