We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality care, assist in the management of patient health, and support the care team. This role requires strong clinical skills, attention to detail, the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, and the able to work alone and as part of a team.
Duties
Will prioritize the health, safety and general well-being of residents, staff, and visitors.
Will provide care in a manner that demonstrates the principles of appropriate choice, dignity, privacy, independence, and individuality.
Collaborate with the Interdisciplinary team to create an environment where people are safe, respected, and comfortable.
Support the resident's lifestyle in a home-like environment in accordance with the Resident's individualized care plan.
Provide leadership to the team to ensure they understand and are committed to providing directed services.
Perform duties and services as required in the Resident's individualized Care Plan
Perform procedures as per CLPNA standards.
Provide medication assistance
Staff scheduling as required for immediate coverage.
Attend and participate in meetings as requested as part of the care team.
Follow and enforce the Emergency Response Plan, Infection Control protocols, WHMIS and OHS processes.
Participate in ongoing educational programs as required
Maintain records/charts as necessary.
Will assist in the training and orientation of staff.
Requirements
Active registration with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA).
Must have basic computer skills.
Must be able to lift & transfer heavy items, up to 50 lbs.
Must be able to stand/walk for an entire shift, stoop, kneel, bend frequently.
Must be willing to work all shifts - days, evenings, and nights, including weekends and statutory holidays. Shifts are 6-10 hours
Fluent in written and spoken English, active listening skills and verbal/non-verbal communication skills.
Be compassionate, responsive and convey a desire to care for people.
Able to prioritize, re-adjust routines, and deal with repetitive activities.
Commitment to Person Directed Care
Must be able to work and communicate effectively with all members of the interdisciplinary team.
