Ontario Shores is currently seeking a Psychotherapist, reporting to the Clinical Manager for the Traumatic Stress Clinic, (TSC), within the Outpatient service area. The successful candidate will be a clinician with sound knowledge of clinical work in the area of mental health and addiction issues in the area of treating trauma and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).
Responsibilities include: psychosocial assessment and consultation; individual psychotherapy; group psychotherapy; psycho-education; liaison with community resources; collaboration with all team member; active involvement as a member of an interdisciplinary team. Client service will be through traditional in person methodology as well as in a virtual environment using Telemedicine.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED AND PREFERRED
A Master's Degree, or equivalent, in Psychotherapy.
The successful candidate must be registered with the College of Psychotherapists, in good standing.
Training and experience using Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) with individuals with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).
3-5 years of recent Psychotherapy, experience in a mental health facility or service, experience in outpatient settings is preferred.
Training and/or experience in facilitating psychoeducational groups.
Understanding and application of Best Practice treatments.
Demonstrated knowledge of the Psychotherapy profession standards of practice),.
Demonstrated knowledge of Mental Health, and relevant policies and legislation, such as the Mental Health Act and PHIPA is required.
Current CPR HCP is required
The successful candidate will have the ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team and independently.
The candidate will have demonstrated excellent interpersonal and effective oral/written communication skills
The ability to work with clients of diverse ethno racial and cultural backgrounds and proficiency in a second language is considered an asset
Knowledge and familiarity working in a virtual therapeutic environment.
Must have the ability to perform the physical demands of the position
