Job Description

Reporting to the Vice-President, Communications and Patient Experience, the Learning and Organizational Development Specialist is responsible for utilizing learning and performance solutions to support organizational initiatives. These responsibilities span across the employment cycle, from onboarding, to engagement and retention, to performance development and management, to ongoing learning and assessment. The role primarily engages with all levels of leadership within the organization, including senior management. The CEOD team also supports various corporate action plans through the provision of best practice organizational development theories, interventions, employee engagement and change management support.



This individual will be technically savvy, as they will be responsible for overseeing and supporting functions within the hospital's Human Resources Information System including but not limited to the Learning Management System and the Performance Management System. The individual will have experience leading and executing projects as well as providing ongoing process improvement support.


KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES






Learning and Development



Apply established learning theory to support a diverse range of learning and professional development initiatives. Conduct training needs assessment and analysis. Design and implement blended learning solutions utilizing key technical content from subject matter experts in order to fulfill learning needs. Consult on various corporate training initiatives, policies and directives using their expertise in design, development and facilitation or learning. Provide leadership and oversight for the onboarding of employees through the General Orientation process, and their ongoing performance assessment as it relates to the performance appraisal process. Support the day-to-day administration and enhancement of the hospital's Learning Management System



Organizational Development




Support the ongoing enhancement and implementation of the Leadership Development Strategy and its leadership development programs. Consult with managers/directors and implement senior level organizational development interventions to support achievement of corporate goals and strategies. Support corporate transition through the application of established change theories and practices, using the customized Organizational Change Management Model. Apply advanced facilitation skills to support managers in the areas of strategic planning, team development and work plans, project task forces and various project teams. Administer data collection strategies, such as our Employee Opinion Survey and analyze corporate and team-specific data to identify areas of opportunity for enhancing effectiveness in the organization and its teams. In response to identified needs, research best practices and programming and make recommendations for service delivery.



General




Create communications and project materials, presentations, briefing notes, and coordinate all aspects of training, education, work groups etc. as it relates to the initiatives for which the individual is responsible. Model a customer service approach that is responsive, collaborative, inclusive and respectful of diverse needs. Participate and support corporate events, hospital-wide projects, task or work groups, and committees, as assigned. Provide input into applicable policy review and development processes. Ability to work outside standard hours, if required.



QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED AND PREFERRED




Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in learning and development, adult education, and/or organizational development setting. Degree in relevant field such as Human Resources, Adult Education, Social Sciences, etc.; Certificate in Instructing Adults/Adult Learning is an asset; Advanced knowledge using Articulate Storyline is an asset Demonstrated experience with change management theories and practices to develop customized interventions to support staff through organizational change. Demonstrated experience with leadership models and competency frameworks. Proven experience with adult learning theories and techniques as well as facilitation and presentation skills. Exceptional project and time management skills with an ability to manage multiple priorities with ease; Results-oriented work ethic to work independently and undertake tasks needed to accomplish work objectives and deliver quality, consistent and timely results. Advanced interpersonal skills with an ability to professionally engage with leaders and stakeholders at all levels of the organization; Confident presentation skills, and excellent written and verbal English language communication skills, including writing and editing. Strong organization and analytical skills, with the ability to meet deadlines and respond to changing priorities, whether working independently or in a team situation. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office; Word, Excel, PowerPoint; Experience providing administrative support for Human Resources Information Systems Ability to quickly learn new computer programs and adopt new technologies and software
