We're looking for a Performance Test Analyst (part of our Quality Assurance team) to support our Information Services (IS) Department at our Administration Centre in Edmonton, Lloydminster, or Red Deer, AB. This is a Temporary Position, for approximately 6 months.

The Performance Test Analyst will be required to have interaction at multiple levels of the organization and is required to assume the test lead on small and medium task assignments. They will be able to elicit, analyze, and validate technical and business requirements for performance testing purposes, and translate these requirements into test scenarios.

They will be able to explain functional/nonfunctional issues to team and work towards resolution with appropriate teams.

More specifically, the scope of your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Performance Test Strategy
  • Assist in identifying clear performance requirements and measurement criteria that can be validated.
  • Assist in the analysis, design and development of a performance roadmap and implementation based upon a current vs. future state.
  • Performance Test Design, Execution and Analysis
  • Able to provide test results/ materials to Senior Performance Test analysist for Gate Review (Test Readiness Review, Production Readiness Review, Performance Test Exit reports).
  • Able to correlate complex business requirements into simple actionable information and create performance tests/scripts to best predict customer experience under load.
  • Execute tests in an organized manner keeping track of all parameters of each test and their results
  • Testing Standards/Practices and Team Effectiveness
  • Control scope of work (self & team members) effectively for assigned project (prioritize, identifies potential issues with estimates or deadlines early), proactively communicating status/issues. Identifies and solutions impacts to assignment deadlines and schedules.
  • Recognized for knowledge in most applications as is required to support Performance Testing.
  • Self-motivated with ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Multitask on more than one assignment at the same time prioritizing effectively.
Requirements:

To qualify, you'll need at least the following:
  • 4 to 7 years of work experience in Performance testing.
  • Strong background and experience with testing methodologies and techniques.
  • Strong technical ability in developing automation for load testing using LoadRunner
  • Strong knowledge with Azure DevOps and GIT.
  • Strong experience in designing workloads, test cases, test scripts, test script execution, analyzing and reporting test results
  • Good understanding of testing web applications, desktop based and windows socket applications
  • Ability to troubleshoot issues in the performance test environment using Dynatrace.
  • Execute test cases to meet required execution targets to keep the project on schedule.
  • Knowledge of performance bottlenecks and end-to-end performance measures (server response time, memory and CPU utilization, throughput, latency, etc.).
  • Knowledge of end-to-end performance measures (server response time, memory and CPU utilization, throughput, latency, etc.).
  • Experience with LoadRunner performance test tool suites (VGEN, Controller, and Analysis).
  • Create and maintain test artifacts (plans, reports, dashboards) and ensure they meet expectations.
  • Able to write and modify PowerShell scripts to automate manual work.
  • Must have working knowledge on ADO (Azure DevOps) Pipeline and repository management.
  • Experience in testing Agile software development projects.
  • Experience in installing, configuring, and using selected application performance tools.
  • Good knowledge of SQL Server databases and SQL queries.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Although not required, the following experience and education/certifications are valuable assets:
  • Formal banking/financial sector training/certification is considered an asset.
  • Understand MS Visio business logic diagrams (flow charts and swim lanes etc.)
  • Running Load test using ADO pipeline
