About this opportunity:




The People Operations Advisor is a key member of Paramount's People Operations Team. Based in the Calgary Office and reporting to the Manager, People Operations, you'll be expected to effectively apply Human Resource management practices to provide generalist HR support as required, particularly in the areas of recruitment and selection, performance management, employee development, policy application and employee relations for client groups in our Field Operations in Western Canada. Other primary responsibilities will include leading our Campus Recruitment program, overall recruitment support and process improvement activities.

Job functions will involve:



Providing value-added advice and counsel to managers, supervisors and employees on key human resource matters, issues, and opportunities Provide efficient and timely resolution to employee concerns, issues, and inquiries; ensure exceptional customer satisfaction, in conjunction with corporate policies Providing full-cycle recruitment support including developing and managing the recruitment strategy, designing job descriptions and postings, scheduling interviews, preparing interview guides, and providing input into the selection decision Facilitating the onboarding of all new hires and ensuring that electronic personnel files are complete and up to date Leading Paramount's Campus Recruitment efforts Provide Managers/Foremen with performance management support and capability development activities/procedures Identifying and problem-solving on work environment improvement initiatives Working closely with the payroll and HRMS team to resolve employee issues Interpreting, updating, and applying as well as occasionally developing HR related policies and guidelines Assisting in the effective application of compensation and benefit programs Supporting succession and workforce planning initiatives within the business Taking the lead on or assisting with other HR related projects and tasks as assigned

Required Skills & Qualifications:



EDUCATION:



Undergraduate degree in business or a related discipline CPHR designation or working towards one would be considered an asset

EXPERIENCE:



A minimum of five years of demonstrated HR recruitment or generalist experience, oil and gas experience would be considered an asset

Ability to interact with employees at all levels of the organization Strong verbal and written communication skills matched with the ability to negotiate and build relationships with key stakeholders Demonstrated superior organization skills and attention to detail A focus on continuous improvement and being committed to learning new HR practices Excellent customer service focus Knowledge of key people processes to leverage and add value to the business' goals Experience in most aspects of HR with a strong understanding of applicable legislation Advanced computer skills with MS Office Previous experience with the HR functions of ADP Workforce Now considered an asset Ability to work effectively independently Possess a willingness to take on additional matters as the opportunity or situation arises A sense of urgency and ability to manage competing priorities A personal commitment to delivery with a strong work ethic Positive attitude and a sense of teamwork Able to adapt and change in a high paced environment Proven reputation for honesty, integrity, maturity, sound business judgement and high ethical standards Willing to spend approximately ten to fifteen percent of your time travelling to field locations around Alberta
