The People + Culture Generalist supports the full employee lifecycle - from recruitment and onboarding to performance management, employee relations, and engagement. Acting as a trusted partner to employees and leaders, this role ensures fair and consistent practices, supports professional development, and contributes to ETRO's culture of collaboration and excellence.
What you'll do:
Lead end-to-end recruitment for various roles, from entry-level to mid-senior positions.
Partner with hiring managers on job descriptions, recruitment strategies, and interviews.
Manage onboarding and new hire orientation, ensuring a seamless employee experience.
Conduct milestone check-ins and identify opportunities for improvement.
Support ETRO's People Builder Program and annual performance review cycles.
Advise managers on feedback, goal-setting, and development planning.
Act as a first point of contact for employee inquiries, policies, and workplace concerns.
Support employee relations matters under the guidance of the People + Culture Manager.
Administer benefits, compensation changes, and support payroll processes.
Lead engagement initiatives - including events, recognition programs, and wellness activities.
Manage HR data and reporting, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and confidentiality.
Contribute to process improvements and policy updates that enhance HR operations.
Represent ETRO at career fairs and community events to strengthen the employer brand.
What you bring:
Experience:
2-5 years of experience in Human Resources or a similar generalist role.
Education:
Certificate, diploma, or degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
Knowledge:
Strong understanding of employment standards, HR best practices, and workplace legislation.
Skills:
Experience managing full-cycle recruitment and employee engagement programs.
Technical:
Proficiency with HRIS platforms, Microsoft Office Suite, and data management tools (ADP experience an asset).
Attributes:
Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills; ability to handle sensitive information with professionalism and discretion; a collaborative, people-first approach with a focus on fairness and continuous improvement.
