The People & Culture Coordinator (Contract) provides administrative and operational support across key People & Culture functions, contributing to a seamless teammate experience throughout the employee lifecycle. A priority focus of this role is supporting pension administration but will also involve support in onboarding and offboarding, benefits, documentation and reporting. The People & Culture Coordinator collaborates closely with internal partners to ensure accuracy, compliance and alignment with organizational values and practices.

This teammate will be based in Ontario and will be in a hybrid role that could require travel to Oakville, Grimsby or Niagara on the Lake as needed. This is a 9 month contract role.



This teammate will be responsible for:



Provide day-to-day support for pension-related administration, communication and deliverables. Assist with benefits enrolment, education enrolment and other People & Culture programs, working with both internal stakeholders and external vendors. Support the preparation and distribution of communication materials related to Total Rewards and other People & Culture programming. Maintain accurate records and track employee Total Reward and People & Culture program participation or changes. Partner with payroll and benefits teams to ensure data accuracy and integrity. Assist in broader People & Culture activities such as onboarding, offboarding and employee file management. Provide administrative support on activities in collaboration with Compensation & Benefits Manager, People Operations Manager and People Experience Director. Act as the first line of support for People & Culture inquiries, ensuring that responses are provided in a complete and timely manner. Participate in the creation, deployment and facilitation of People & Culture initiatives on a departmental and national scale. Prepare various documentation to support the People & Culture team. Support additional and ad-hoc administrative and project-based tasks as needed. Follows safe work procedures, practices and reports all unsafe working conditions to their reporting manager.

We are looking for a teammate with:



University Degree/College Diploma in business, concentration in Human Resources Management preferred. CHRP attained or in progress an asset. Minimum 1 year in HR Assistant/Administrative role. Computer literacy, including Microsoft Office, Word, Excel and PowerPoint. HRIS and/or Payroll experience an asset. Proven ability to effectively manage and execute multiple projects and initiatives simultaneously. Proven leadership potential/ability to influence others and build cooperative relationships. Exceptional communication and active listening skills. Demonstrated ability to take initiative on challenging issues and to be proactive. Demonstrated ability to critically analyze issues and provide objective options/recommendations. Personally aligned with APL's values and able to effectively demonstrate these values.
