The People and Culture Advisor is responsible for ensuring that our team and guest satisfaction continue to earn us our progressive leadership position in the hospitality industry. Working closely with the management team, the advisor contributes to a positive work environment focused on our values and culture of accountability, all while contributing to exceptional associate and guest satisfaction. As part of our culture, we believe in the growth and development of our associates while also championing of customer relationship management. They are responsible for ensuring that our unique brand of warm West Coast hospitality is provided throughout the property at every level. This will be accomplished by providing support, tools, and training to all managers within the property.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Creates an emotional bond between the property team and the guests they encounter
Lead the Cultural Training Programs
Support and develop super-star associates
Create and deliver tools so that all associates can deliver lively and personalized experiences to all our guests
Celebrate successes with teammates and departments
Communicate effectively with all departments to ensure a maximum positive guest experience
Ensure guest recovery for designated issues
Liaises with associates and external contacts to facilitate positive work outcomes
Guides and supports hotel leadership in People & Culture matters as well as administration tasks
Supports the recruitment, retention, performance management and training efforts
Facilitates orientation for new associates and coordinates associate events
Contributes as a member of the strategic planning and Associate Survey Action Planning
Committee
Leads both the Success Committee and the Occupational Health & Safety Committee
Understands what is going on in the operation and focuses on immediate priorities
Provides informal recognition to acknowledge the demonstration of excellent performance and /or
Works with the leadership team to remove barriers to delivering exceptional guest experiences
Other duties as required
Preferred Education & Qualifications:
Minimum two
(2) years'
experience in a Human Resources related position is preferred.
Previous experience with ADP or similar payroll/HR system
Excellent skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, network systems required.
Strong abilities to prioritize tasks, meet all deadlines, and attention to detail and analytical skills are required.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills required as are strong customer service focus and problem resolution skills.
Excellent leader and coach who has a passion to bring out the best in their teammates and themselves.
