People and Workplace Culture Manager

to join our team and lead with heart, purpose, and professionalism. Reporting directly to the Chief Administrative Officer, you'll play a key role in shaping our people strategy and workplace culture, grounded in Ktunaxa values, equity, and community wellbeing.



This role will lead the development, implementation, and oversight of progressive HR strategies that reflect our mission and values. You'll be the go-to advisor for leaders and staff on everything from talent development and employee relations to total rewards and organizational change.



You'll have a hands-on role in day-to-day HR operations and the opportunity to lead long-term strategic initiatives that support growth, engagement, and cultural alignment across the organization.

Note: This position is full-time with a set weekly schedule (35 hrs/week, Monday - Friday), with the requirement to be available after hours outside of the standard workweek as needed.

The primary responsibilities include:

Strategic HR Leadership

Champion people-first strategies that align with organizational and cultural goals

Advise senior leadership on workforce planning, structure, and engagement

Promote equity, inclusion, and belonging in all HR practices

Employee Relations & Engagement

Foster a respectful, collaborative workplace culture

Lead employee engagement initiatives, surveys, and action plans

Resolve conflicts and employee matters with fairness and discretion

Talent Acquisition & Development

Design inclusive recruitment strategies and onboarding experiences

Coach leaders and develop internal talent through performance management and career planning Oversee succession planning and workforce development

Total Rewards & Wellbeing

Manage compensation programs, pay equity, and benefits

Enhance total rewards that support wellness, retention, and motivation

Compliance & Risk Management

Keep HR policies up-to-date and legally compliant

Support workplace accommodations and health & safety programs

Lead or support workplace investigations

HR Systems & Reporting

Oversee BambooHR and ensure data accuracy and insights for decision-making

Provide HR metrics and reports to support planning and performance


Other duties as required.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in HR, Business Admin, or related field (Master's or CPHR is a plus) 5+ years of progressive HR experience, including HR leadership roles Deep knowledge of employment legislation (Canada Labour Code) and HR best practices Strong communication, problem-solving, and coaching skills A passion for people, inclusion, and meaningful organizational impact Strong communication skills, specifically verbal and listening Experience working in Indigenous or culturally diverse environments is a strong asset Knowledge of language, history and culture of the Ktunaxa Nation is an asset NOTE: A criminal check will be conducted on the successful applicant

What we offer:
