INTRODUCTION:

New Path Youth and Family Services is an accredited children's mental health agency providing a range of compassionate, innovative and accessible services for children, youth and their families throughout Simcoe County. PURPOSE OF POSTION:

Providing responsive and inclusive support services for staff, students and volunteers is foundational to achieving New Path's mission. The People and Culture (PC) Supervisor is responsible for overseeing HR Systems, health and safety, leaves and accommodations and staff recognition programs that are consistent with New Path's Vision, Mission, and Values, Ministry guidelines, Accreditation standards and legislative requirements. The Supervisor will provide leadership and guidance to advance New Path's commitment to Equity, Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging (EDIB).

People and Culture Leadership

Support strategic and operational plans with a focus on achieving PC and EDIB goals and objectives.

Co-chair the EDIB team. Guide the implementation of the Work Plan and prepare and present reports to the Leadership Team, the Board and all staff on the progress of EDIB actions.

Lead the leaves of absence, return to work and accommodation programs in collaboration with staff, management, benefit providers, insurers and healthcare professionals.

Supervise the health and safety program including co-chairing the JHSC, conducting risk assessments, reviewing incident reports, and monitoring and addressing items from monthly inspection reports.

Report workplace incidents, illnesses and critical injuries to the appropriate Ministry, Public Health Unit and WSIB.

Monitor and manage HR systems for quality and efficiency including year-end processes and ad-hoc reporting.

Ensure payroll information is communicated to Finance accurately and on time.

Conduct regular quality checks including file and member audits for payroll, Accreditation, Licensing, Benefits and Pension.

Review and approve the work of PC staff and students ensuring accuracy, efficiency in tasks and compliance with policies and procedures.

Lead staff recognition, appreciation and award programs.

Co-develop and implement People and Culture policies, procedures and systems that build an inclusive, welcoming and safe space for staff, students and volunteers and which mitigate risk for the agency and ensure best practice.

Provide support in recruiting, interviewing and onboarding as required.

May take a lead on special projects.

Leadership and Supervision

Lead organizational change in accordance with Strategic priorities.

Provide support to the Manager of People and Culture, other Supervisors and back up support to staff as required.

Learn, understand and respond to unique needs, values, goals and strengths of team members.

Regularly acknowledge staff and other teams.

Foster and maintain a strong, positive workplace culture where team members feel valued, heard and involved in decision making that directly impacts their role.

Support the growth and professional development of staff through mentoring, coaching and role modeling skills.

Represent the agency on internal and external committees taking on a leadership role as required to ensure successful meetings and achievement of agency goals. This can include speaking engagements, presentations at conferences and media interviews.

Provide supervision to practicum students as requested.

Community

Develop and maintain positive relationships with youth and their families, staff, partner agencies, Ministry bodies and the community.

Represent the Agency in the community to facilitate collaborative relationships.

Represent the Agency on provincial working groups related to EDIB and People and Culture.

Participate in research activities as required.

General

Through actions, supports the Mission, Vision, Values and Strategic Plan of New Path.

Reviews and adheres to all Policies and Procedures, including: Administration; Finance; Client Services; Human Resources; Information Systems, and all other.

Adheres to manager responsibilities for Health & Safety as defined by the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) and applicable regulations.

Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Post-secondary diploma or degree relevant to Human Resources Management. CHRL or CHRP designation is preferred.

Membership with a Professional Association or College.

Minimum of 5 years of advanced HR experience preferably in the non-profit sector with 1 year of leading and developing others.

Knowledge of employment, human rights and accessibility legislation.

Expertise and effective use of database and Microsoft Office systems. Experience in a unionized environment is an asset.

Confident, articulate and professional when communicating and presenting verbally and in writing. Well-developed public speaking and group facilitation skills.

Effective judgment, presentation, research and complex problem-solving skills.

Interpret data and provide variance analysis.

Maintain professional skills and refine expertise through appropriate educational/ developmental activities and professional affiliations.

French language is an asset.

Eligible to work on-site in office and work from home.

Some evening and weekend hours may be required.

Willingness to travel to other agency offices using personal vehicle. Must have valid driver's license with minimum G2.

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
