If you're the kind of person that loves matchmaking and planning parties, this role is for you. We're looking to rapidly grow our team and need someone working part-time in-house to help us find the right people with the right experience. You'll need to be familiar with the needs of a SaaS-based tech startup and be able to help match our team leaders with the best candidates.Simultaneously, as a completely remote team, we also need someone that can help us all keep in touch and connect with each other. This could mean planning an internal weekly event to help cultivate a fun work atmosphere or arranging for swag to go out.While we're only looking for someone part-time now, as our company expands, we may grow the role for the right person. If you're a go-getter, this is a perfect place for you.What will be my duties and responsibilities in this job?
  • Working directly with executives and team leads to create and build job descriptions and compensation plans to attract suitable candidates
Recruitment and Onboarding
  • Posting job vacancies, conducting background, educational and reference checks
  • Lead communication with candidates and employees throughout selection and onboarding process
  • Facilitate new hire onboarding process, including onboarding checklists, orientation and related tasks
  • Scheduling phone screenings and interviews as required
  • Support on select recruitment as required
  • Presentation of job offers to new hires
Employee Engagement and Events
  • Assist with the planning and execution of all People & Culture employee related meetings and events, including onboarding and orientation
  • Coordination for onsite trainings including but not limited to sending invites, ordering material, room setup, catering requests, name cards, printing materials, etc.
  • Design and execute an exciting company culture plan for existing and potential employees
  • Direct general People & Culture related inquiries and answer as required
  • Help the company refine and improve existing corporate processes
Reporting & Administrative Duties
  • Track completion of annual training programs
  • Managing People & Culture Inbox
  • Drafting employment / verification letters
  • First point of contact for general internal inquiries in remote setting
  • Responsible for HR and Payroll documentation
  • Back up for payroll administrator
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or trade certificate in Human Resources, Organizational Effectiveness or a related field
  • 2 years of experience in Recruitment and HR in a SaaS company with remote employees
  • Working knowledge of best practices in HR and employment standards Canada-wide
  • Comfort with working 100% remotely and checking in regularly - having dedicated office space is ideal as calls are frequent
  • Superb written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Highly self-motivated, assertive, and professional, with the ability to exercise discretion as needed when dealing with sensitive and personal information
  • Able to pass a background check
