The Toronto District School Board adheres to equitable hiring, employment and promotion practices. Reporting to the Pension Specialist, the Pension Administrator will assist the Pension Specialist by: Testing and implementing applications to ensure that the system is current and that the full extent of its functionality has been explored; Documenting procedures and routines of the HRIS/Payroll system (SAP); and Analysing, researching and preparing audits of pension records/documents to ensure projections, calculations and payments are preformed effectively and in a timely fashion. Summary of Duties:
\xe2\x9e\xa2 Review, investigate, analyze, research for both the Ontario Teachers\xe2\x80\x99 Pension Plan (OTPP). and the Ontario Municipal Employees Retirement System (OMERS);
\xe2\x9e\xa2 Respond to inquiries both orally and in writing from employees of the Board;
\xe2\x9e\xa2 Review pension transactions and events (e.g. enrolments, terminations, LTDI status, deaths marriage breakdown, transfers, leaves of absence and change in status) to ensure accurate data within system;
\xe2\x9e\xa2 Research and analyze information for data integrity;
\xe2\x9e\xa2 Prepare monthly remittances as well as per pay and annual reports as required by pension plans;
\xe2\x9e\xa2 Check all Edits and Final Run for discrepancy and accuracy;
\xe2\x9e\xa2 Process any overpayments;
\xe2\x9e\xa2 Monitor OTPP priority list to ensure that all inquiries are dealt with in a timely manner;
\xe2\x9e\xa2 Monitor the monthly reimbursements and contributions;
\xe2\x9e\xa2 Prepare annual reconciliations of employee earnings, contributions and service for both pension plans and refund over contributions and prepare Invoices for under contributions as required;
\xe2\x9e\xa2 Process year-end activities and year-end follow up;
\xe2\x9e\xa2 Audit, correct and update Year-end Form 119 and OTPP. errors and inquiries;
\xe2\x9e\xa2 Conduct regular audits to evaluate how payroll results were calculated by analyzing the results for affected pay period or longer (up to a year);
\xe2\x9e\xa2 Communicate with the HR/Payroll system configuration team to determine how the rules are applied in the system and make recommendations on any changes required;
\xe2\x9e\xa2 Assist with future maintenance, testing and implementation of any new functionality within the application;
\xe2\x9e\xa2 Assist in the creation of a variety of reports to ensure the integrity of the pension records of employees;
\xe2\x9e\xa2 Run reports on a regular basis to ensure correct pension enrolment and processing of pension records;
\xe2\x9e\xa2 Conduct random check status of employees (e.g.: 4/5 Plans, Pension Buy Backs, LTDI, Credited Service etc.); and
\xe2\x9e\xa2 Other related duties as assigned. Qualifications:
\xe2\x9e\xa2 Two-year community college diploma a related field (e.g. Accounting, Business Administration, etc.) with four progressively responsible related pension administration experience, or an equivalent combination
of education and experience;
\xe2\x9e\xa2 Detailed knowledge of the concepts and application of O.T.P.P. and OMERS;
\xe2\x9e\xa2 Detailed knowledge of and experience in administration of Defined Benefit Pension Plans and reporting requirements;
\xe2\x9e\xa2 Proficiency and expertise in the use of computer technology (e.g. e-mail, word processing, spreadsheets, databases, HR/Payroll and Financial applications);
\xe2\x9e\xa2 Knowledge of related Provincial and Federal Legislation, TDSB policies and procedures and collective agreement provisions;
\xe2\x9e\xa2 Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills;
\xe2\x9e\xa2 Demonstrated sensitivity and ability to maintain confidential records;
\xe2\x9e\xa2 Proven ability to work under pressure and consistently meet deadlines.
\xe2\x9e\xa2 Strong communication, interpersonal and organizational skills;
\xe2\x9e\xa2 Ability to work with staff at all levels; and
\xe2\x9e\xa2 Ability to work independently as well a team member. Assets:
\xe2\x9e\xa2 CPA certification. Location: 5050 Yonge Street (Wheelchair Accessible) (Hybrid Work Eligible)
