This role is the subject matter expert in the design, engineering and testing of new terminal engineering design and support the network engineering and network evolution functional areas, in the rollout and upgrade of new and enhanced terminal engineering and design. Responsibilties:
Development and Implementation of National Asset Management Strategy, Obsolescence Planning, MHE Technology Evolution and Innovation, Design Standardization and Engineering Design & Safety Standards
Lead/coach process or health & safety improvements projects related to MHE, including retrofits and new installations.
Ensure projects are completed on-schedule and on-budget.
Lead/coach MHE related projects for facility relocations, expansions, and close-outs
Support MHE related maintenance-of-business requests from the Field.
Evaluate cost avoidance opportunities based on Risks/Benefit analysis, and implement as needed.
Lead/coach development of MHE standards to keep up-to-date to comply with regulatory requirements. Through design improvements in reducing risks of both acute type and ergonomic related injury, minimize potentials of health & safety related injuries for team mates.
Qualifications
Engineering degree in Mechanical Industrial or Electrical Engineering (valid engineering license an asset)
Expert knowledge of OSHA, Industrial Regulations and CSA standards
Minimum of seven (7) to ten (10) years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in a supervisory role, supervising and managing skilled trades (i.e. welders, millwrights, electricians, mechanics). Conveyor system experience in a high-volume, 24x7, high-speed package sortation environment; must have lead hand or supervisory experience managing 8 to 10 skilled trades people for 5 to 7 years.
Strong mechanical/electrical maintenance background & aptitude. Must have hands on experience and troubleshooting skills with a mechanical background. Experience in manufacturing facility or logistic industry is an asset.
Working knowledge and experienced CMMS software; proficient with general MS Office software;
Knowledgeable of AutoCAD, NavisWorks, or Revit
General health and safety knowledge (Ontario OHSA, ESA, CSA, ULC, etc.).
Excellent time management and organizational skills.
Outstanding communication, customer service, interpersonal and leadership skills.
Proficient in some, if not all, of the following:
PHA - Preliminary hazards analysis
FMEA - Failure modes and effects analysis
CA - Criticality analysis
SFMEA - Simplified failure modes and effects analysis
MI - Maintainability information
FTA - Fault tree analysis
ETA - Event tree analysis
Data analysis techniques including Statistical Process Control, Reliability modeling and prediction, Fault Tree Analysis, Weibull Tree Analysis or Six Sigma (6\xcf\x83) Methodologies
