We are seeking dedicated and compassionate Personal Support Workers (PSW) / Unregulated Care Providers (UCP) to join our team in Pembroke and Petawawa. In this role, you will provide essential support to individuals with varying needs, including seniors and persons with disabilities. Your contributions will enhance the quality of life for our clients through personalized care and assistance.
Duties
Cue for medications as prescribed and ensure proper documentation is maintained.
Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, grooming, and dressing.
Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary requirements.
Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the well-being of clients.
Assist in mobility and transfers for clients requiring physical support.
Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients, ensuring hygiene standards are met.
Support individuals with dementia care by employing appropriate techniques to manage behaviors and promote comfort.
Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement care plans that cater to the unique needs of each client.
Document observations regarding client health status and report any changes to the appropriate personnel.
Requirements
Previous experience in senior care, assisted living, or home care is preferred.
Knowledge of medication administration protocols is essential.
Experience working with persons with disabilities is an asset.
Familiarity with dementia care practices is highly regarded.
Strong caregiving skills with a compassionate approach towards clients' needs.
Ability to maintain a clean environment while adhering to health and safety regulations.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with clients, families, and team members.
A valid certification in PSW or UCP training is preferred but not mandatory; willingness to undergo training is required.
