Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Pediatric Occupational Therapist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assessing, planning, and implementing therapeutic interventions to help patients achieve their rehabilitation goals. This role is essential in providing high-quality patient care within a hospital setting, focusing on both acute care and pediatrics. The Occupational Therapist will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive case management and support for all patients.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough assessments of patients' physical, emotional, and social needs to develop individualized treatment plans.
- Implement therapeutic interventions aimed at improving patients' ability to perform daily activities.
- Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary to achieve optimal outcomes.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
- Educate patients and their families about treatment plans, goals, and strategies for improvement.
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
- Stay current with medical terminology and best practices in occupational therapy.
Skills
- Strong background in patient care with a focus on acute care settings.
- Experience in case management to effectively coordinate comprehensive care for patients.
- Knowledge of pediatric therapy techniques and interventions is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in medical terminology relevant to occupational therapy practices.
- Ability to work effectively within a hospital environment while maintaining professionalism and empathy.
- Excellent communication skills to interact with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
