In order to provide support for its faculty, CEGEP Heritage College is seeking to hire a full-time Techno-Pedagogical Counsellor to join its team.



Responsilities:



Reporting directly to the Associate Academic Dean, the incumbent is involved in the coordination, design, development, and implementation of pedagogical activities, programs, and projects. Working in an advisory capacity with faculty, staff, and other stakeholders at the College, the candidate will provide guidance and training on pedagogical issues, such as curriculum and course design, program revision and evaluation, as well as best practices in teaching and learning with a focus on digital pedagogy. Bringing a background in technology combined with equity, diversity and inclusion (EDI) initiatives, the candidate will work with faculty to incorporate EDI teaching and learning practices into the classroom. The candidate will also support students by providing guidance on academic integrity and training in the effective use of the learning management system (LMS). The candidate is expected to work independently as well as collaborate with other Pedagogical Counsellors in the Teaching and Learning Centre.



DUTIESAssist faculty, programs, and departments in carrying out their teaching responsibilities. Consult with faculty on pedagogy related issues and provide them with best practice informed recommendations. Work directly with students to provide support on academic integrity and guide them in utilizing LMS effectively. Promote best practices in digital pedagogy, LMS, instructional design, and the use of emerging educational technologies. Research, evaluate, and recommend educational technologies that align with the college's pedagogical goals. Act as a liaison between faculty and IST services to ensure pedagogical needs are met through technology infrastructure. Prepare and facilitate professional development activities for faculty, including EDI principles and technology-based teaching and learning practices. Advise faculty on curricular and course (re-)design. Support faculty in Ministry of Education driven program revisions (analysis, development, implementation, evaluation, revision). Promote and support faculty in pedagogical or disciplinary research. Manage, implement, assess, and disseminate pedagogical projects. Support and advise faculty on developing inclusive pedagogies and practices that promote equity and accessibility in the learning environment. Collaborate with faculty to create strategies that enhance a sense of belonging for students from diverse backgrounds, including marginalized, and equity-deserving groups. Monitor implementation of College's policies, particularly educational and research policies. Assist in policy evaluation. Lead or participate in College committees. Perform outreach activities within CEGEP/college/university networks. Perform all other related tasks.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

Schooling and Experience




Bachelor's degree in related field required. Master's degree in related field would be considered an asset. Demonstrated experience with integrating technology into teaching and learning environments. Experience with inclusive curriculum design, and/or EDI pedagogical approaches A minimum of 2 years of teaching experience (at post-secondary level would be an asset). ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONSBilingual in both French and English (written, spoken, reading, and listening comprehension). Ability to manage conflicting priorities and deliver multiple projects under tight timelines. Ability to work independently and collaboratively. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Desire and ability to stay current on pedagogical innovations and best practices. Strong capabilities for remote and onsite facilitation with diverse clientele. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Diligent, dynamic, creative, and detail oriented. Flexible and able to adapt quickly to different situations. Outstanding work ethic and ability to exercise discretion. Strong Microsoft's Office suite software using skills. Excellent knowledge of digital learning environments. General understanding of CEGEP system.
