PERSONAL CARE ATTENDANT JOB POSTING
We are seeking an enthusiastic, motivated individual to fill the role of Personal Care Attendant. This is an opportunity for the successful candidate to be part of our team and play a vital role in the daily lives of our residents. Our personal care attendants help create connections and cultivate a community for the residents that enrich their lives on a daily basis.
Responsibilities :
Assist and attend to care needs of the residents and daily activities - including, but not limited to: medication administration, bathing, dressing, feeding, mouth/denture care, nail care, eye care, toileting and catheter care.
Maintain work areas in a clean, safe and sanitary manner.
Encourage and facilitate residents' participation in recreation and social wellness programs on a daily basis.
Provide resident companionship.
Document residents' daily care - observing and reporting any changes in residents' health condition and/or behaviour to immediate supervisor.
Perform housekeeping/laundry duties as per residence protocol and/or to meet the needs of residents.
Participate as a member of the Care Team and provide support to the Administration and Management teams as required.
Observe and adhere to all policies and procedures, work standards, and safety regulations.
Assist and attend to special needs of the residents as required.
All other duties as assigned and consistent with ensuring the highest quality of care for each resident.
Qualifications :
First Aid Certificate; CPR Certificate; Immunization records; Tuberculosis test; Criminal record check
Must have effective reading and verbal English communication skills, including being able to follow written and verbal instructions.
Excellent listening skills.
Ability to organize work and work under strict time constraints.
Must be able to respond to emergency situations.
The work requires standing for extended periods of time, and lifting and carrying heavy trays and items - ability to meet the physical requirements of the position.
Must be able to respond to emergency situations in a calm and controlled manner.

Work Hours: casual/Call In - weekend shifts will be included as required.
