Robert Half is currently working with a client looking to fill a Payroll Team Lead position. The Payroll Team Lead will assist the Payroll Manager meet standards for the financial department necessary for growth and will work on reviewing multiple payrolls, preparing reports and updating policies. Your responsibilities in this role

- Review payroll administrators payroll entries prior to submission - Union and Multi provincial bi weekly payrolls

- Generate systems that process payroll account transactions, like salaries, benefits, garnishments, deductions, taxes and third-party payments

- Work with Human Resources (HR) and accounting teams

- Respond to all questions related to payroll and resolve issues

- Assist with system changes and upcoming system implementations

- Maintain accurate records and prepare reports

- Supervise system upgrades and the processing of payroll changes (e.g., new hires, terminations, raises)

- Oversee and train payroll assistants and clerks

- Follow internal policies and act in accordance with relevant laws

Requirements

- PCP or CPM necessary for consideration

- 2+ years of proven leadership experience as a payroll team lead or supervisor

- 5+ years of payroll experience

- Capable of working in payroll applications

- Sound understanding of current payroll procedures and related laws

- Excellent knowledge in compliance

- Knowledge of multi-location payroll and taxes
