Reporting to the Senior Manager, Payroll & Benefit, you will support the People & Culture Team and our business partners (people managers). Responsibilities




Accountable and responsible for the full cycle processing and audit of complex multi-level payroll that includes Board of Directors, Executive, salaried, hourly, contract, shift, overtime, security benefits, bonuses, etc. in Canada, UK, and US Act as a strategic partner with the Finance team to analyze and interpret financial data related to all payroll costs (ie. general ledger and other reports) Complete all year-end balance and filings, respective reporting and prepare T4, T2200, P45, W-2 and other relevant year-end forms Maintain up-to-date and in-depth knowledge of changing payroll legislation, regulation, and best practices Understanding of payroll legislation and processes i.e. taxable benefits, statutory and non-statutory deductions, termination pay, garnishments, etc. Provide administrative and operational support for the overall corporate and contact center payroll function for over 500+ employees Ensure accurate, compliant, and on-time bi-weekly payments of salaries Thoroughly investigate, correct, and follow up on all payroll discrepancies, errors, and inquiries within a timely manner Modernize and manage the employee benefits program including the GRSP/DPSP program, Medical/Dental group plan, Health Spending Account, etc. and ensure related remittances are processed on time Identify automation opportunities to maximize operational efficiency and continually fine tune and optimize processes across Payroll as the company evolves Liaise with other departments regarding new hires, terminations, remuneration and conditions of service Ensure the accurate reporting of General Ledger entries, support external financial audits, and produce financial reports related to payroll costs as needed Create, configure, and map earning and deduction codes while ensuring compliance with payroll tax laws Other financial reports, projects, duties as required


Requirements




Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Finance, Human Resources Management, Business Administration or related field Certified Payroll Compliance Professional (PCP) or Payroll Leadership Professional (PLP) designation or equivalent experience (Asset) 5+ years of progressive full cycle payroll and HR/Payroll system administration experience 5+ years of experience in Global payroll processes/calculations and knowledge of payroll legislation and best practices in Canada, UK, US (required) Strong knowledge of applicable legislation (e.g. Employment Standards Act, UK Employment Rights Act, Labour Relations Act, Income Tax Act, Canada Revenue Agency guidelines) Working knowledge of Security Options, including Stock option plans and RSU's Working knowledge and proficiency with UKG Pro and UKG Pro WFM systems (preferred) Advanced Internet and MS Office Skills (Word/Excel) required Excellent time management skills, with a proven ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast paced, changing environment under minimal supervision Effective attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy Excellent communication and analytical skills with the ability to translate analytical findings into actionable solutions/processes Proven ability to think creatively and solve problems to overcome system limitations to arrive at accurate pay and deductions for employees Ability to identify areas of improvement and make suggestions based on findings to optimize the payroll function Proven ability to deal with high stress, emergency situations and respond to conditions in a prompt and professional manner Agile and adaptable, and possess a mindset of continuous improvement High degree of initiative with a strong sense of personal accountability and ownership in their work, mature judgment, and discretion
