Position Overview



We are seeking a detail-oriented

Payroll Specialist

to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing bi-weekly payroll (90%) and biweekly accounts payable activities (10%). The ideal candidate will have proven experience in payroll and strong understanding of compliance and record-keeping, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities: Payroll (Approx. 90%)

Process bi-weekly/monthly payroll for hourly and salaried employees. Maintain accurate payroll records and ensure compliance with provincial and federal regulations. Manage new hires, terminations, benefits deductions, and payroll adjustments. Prepare ROEs, T4s, and other year-end payroll documentation. Liaise with HR and department managers regarding timekeeping, bonuses, and adjustments. Reconcile payroll accounts and respond to employee payroll inquiries.
Accounts Payable (Approx. 10%)

Receive, review, and process contractors invoices and employee expense reports. Maintain accurate vendor files and reconcile vendor statements. Assist in month-end close by preparing accruals and AP reports. Resolve discrepancies with vendors and internal departments.
Additional Skills & Qualifications

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Must be fluent in English; Spanish is a plus. Intermediate proficiency in Excel, Adobe, and Outlook. Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and adapt to changing circumstances. High attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping.
Required Experience

Previous experience in Payroll and Accounts Payable. Hands-on experience with Excel, Payworks, and Adobe.
