Position Overview:

Atlantic Corporation Limited (ACL) is looking to hire a

Payroll Specialist

with hands-on experience using ADP Workforce Now to manage full-cycle payroll across four separate employee groups. This role is an integral part of ACL's Shared Services model, requiring flexibility, precision, and the ability to support multiple stakeholders. The right candidate will be responsible for delivering accurate and compliant payroll services while identifying opportunities to streamline processes across the Shared Services group.

Key Responsibilities:

Process semi-monthly payroll for our four distinct business units, ensuring accuracy, legal compliance, and deadlines are met. Manage complex pay structures across groups, including variations in compensation, benefits, and deductions. Validate and input timesheets, bonuses, commissions, vacation pay, and other earnings. Ensure compliance with federal and provincial legislation, including income tax, CPP, EI, and employment standards. Prepare and file year-end documentation including T4's, T4A's, RoE's, etc. Reconcile payroll reports and general ledger across multiple cost centers. Manage and respond to inquiries from employees across the four groups with professionalism and care. Support the development and enhancement of standardized payroll practices across ACL's Shared Services model. Keep informed about changes in payroll legislation.

Qualifications:

3+ years experience processing full-cycle Canadian payroll in a multi-entity/shared services environment. Proficient in ADP systems with demonstrated ability to manage multiple payrolls concurrently. Strong knowledge of federal and provincial payroll compliance requirements. Experience working across multiple business units or cost centres is preferred. Detail-oriented, organized, and confident dealing with sensitive payroll information. Strong communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally.
